Today, Junk is the only professional full-service, dry goods, recycling business, in the Cayman Islands offering a cost-effective price point, satisfying the needs of our customers. No other company recycles aluminium and tin cans, cardboard, glass, and plastic types 1, 2 & 5, collectively. We have initiated recycling of both car and small batteries and used “HP” inkjet and LaserJet printer cartridges. We co-operate with the Department of Environmental Health, channeling clean, sorted, recyclables through their recycle center, to divert dry waste away from the George Town Landfill.
Junk’s mission is to promote recycling and provide waste management services to protect our fragile island environment for present and future generations and our vision is for every resident in the Cayman Islands to recycle for sustainability. To this end we have been successful in taking recycling into residential homes.
Junk actively educates the community, school learners and business in sustainability and recycling issues and is involved in various sustainability projects having founded the “Keep it Clean Cayman” do not litter initiative.
